Quick Natural Everyday Makeup Using A Dark Foundation To Save Multiple Steps | Tutorial

May 24, 2017

Hello Everyone!

One of the things I struggle with is getting my makeup done without taking too much time out of my morning to do so. In the past I would take an hour to an hour and a half to get ready every morning and honestly, I could do so much more with that amount of time. However, I truly believe that getting dressed and ready in the morning is key to success as it helps you mentally prepare and boosts your confidence.

I came across this really clever hack on one of Lydia Elise Millen’s YouTube videos and cringed at first because we’re always told the importance of matching our foundation to our skin tone. However, after seeing her finished look I was eager to try this simple hack out. I was lucky enough to be sent a Smashbox BB cream sample in one of my Ipsy Glam Bag subscriptions and they just happened to send me a darker shade. I gave this dark foundation hack a try and was surprised by how natural it looked and how I was able to skip out on contouring because of it!

Since I tried this out using a BB cream which also serves the purpose of a moisturizer, primer, foundation, sunscreen, and oil controller all in one product, I was able to skip all those steps as well saving me A LOT of time!

I finish this look with a very quick eyes and brow look and finish it off with some rouge to my cheeks and a hint of highlighter to brighten everything up and give a subtle glow every girl wants.

Products I Used:
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream (Shade Light/Medium)-
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (Shade Neutralizer)-
Makeup Forever HD High Definition Powder-
theBalm Bahama Mama Matte Bronzer Powder-
ColourPop Waterproof Gel Liner-
IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil-
Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel-
Shiseido Eyelash Curler-
Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express (Waterproof)-
Japonesque Velvet Touch Blush (Shade 02)-
IBY Beauty Highlighter (Shade Bubbly)-

* These were just the products that I used. I haven’t tried another BB cream brand yet as I’ve just recently tried this method out but if you have a BB cream that you love, let me know! The Smashbox one I used was nice but it is a bit finicky and can get streaky if there are other products on my face already.

I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial. I can’t tell you enough how happy I am to have found this simple little hack!
